The urban studies for this project were based on New Urbanism techniques as well as an input from the local community.

The new design of the central area of the city was based in the improvement of three main aspects: the redefinition of the order and hierarchy between public and private areas, the creation of new circuits of public transportation in more efficient areas, and the conception of public plazas in nodes of pedestrian circulation.
